Cassidy's mind is the mist-shrouded forest around the village of Willowthicket where she grew up. Within the village there are large houses scattered around, but only two of them have a light is the window. It's quiet and peaceful, except for the feeling of being watched and that maybe staying outside isn't the best idea here. If you do hang around outside, a giant dog will eventually confront you. If you run then it will give chase, but can't seem to catch you for some reason. If not, it will attack and you'll wake up just as its jaws clamp shut...possibly with a faded bite mark somewhere on your person.

The closer of the lit homes has a welcoming but somewhat lonely feeling to it, and the front door is slightly ajar as though hoping you'll come inside. The other isn't unwelcoming and has a strong sort of close family feeling, but this door is closed...it's not locked though, as though you can be accepted but must show the interest. Another dog waits in both places but is much smaller and friendlier than the one outside, only very slightly larger than a normal dog. She'll be your companion through most of both houses quietly following you and waiting outside any room you choose to enter.

The first house contains several accessible rooms, each with miscellaneous memories of home life. The kitchen has a kindly woman, with the same hair and eye color as Cassidy, baking and has fond memories of parents. She won't respond if spoken to and will disappear altogether if touched.

A playroom up the hall has three puppies playing, one almost normal-sized and the other two nearly the size of a mature dog. Entering this room will cause the play to stop, and touching any of the puppies, or any of the books or simple toys, will trigger childhood memories of fun and attachment. The bigger puppies doesn't seem to mind being picked up, but they stick very close by when the little one is.

At far back in a darkened hallway is a slightly open door with a light on. Your companion will run from this hallway and not be seen in the house after...do you go in? Inside, the same dog lays on the floor, bleeding from a large bite to the stomach but still alive. This room has the memory of an escape from home. When it ends, only a diary remains in the room on the bed, and a huge sense of uncertainty and a feeling of the lack of direction hangs about the room. Checking the diary results in an instant scenery change, to a beach. Only a single tent can be found there, containing all memories prior to escaping.

The other house is the largest in the small village. A communal room is the first encountered, and has memories of family events. A kitchen occupied by an elderly woman contains fond memories of learning. A study nearby features three men bickering, though no sound can be heard...visiting this room results in the sound of fighting dogs being heard outdoors even after exiting the room again. It contains all of the memories pertaining to the shattered peace in her family. A hospital ward is located near the back of the house, and contains both good and bad memories involving treating family.

If the second house was visited first and the study was entered, when leaving the house shapes can be seen and heard fighting each other in the the mist. The big dog will not reappear and none of them will move closer. But the occasional wounded dog may be seen lying on the ground between the houses as though the fight only recently moved away from the houses.
